WHO IS WEARING WHAT - WHO CARES?

Every day I get e-mails from vendors with pictures of some "celebrity" in their garment or carrying their bag. I get it - I do understand that what Oprah mentions and what Jen is wearing at the beach starts a flurry of internet searching and scrambling but come on.

First, lets clarify "celebrity". Now days the girls on The Bachelor are celebrities - people please - these girls are just like me only they aren't smart enough to find a husband on their own. Also, just because you have alot of money does not mean that you have good taste - frankly it can't be bought (or learned) - you are born with it. Point in case, Mary Kate and Ashley.

Like all fashionistas I love to see who is wearing what (I too only watch the Oscar's for the red carpet) but I guess I am the person who wants to be wearing something that no one else has - I especailly don't want to be wearing the cover of any magazine.

So, who buys clothing items simply because someone famous had it on? That's my internet question. I would buy it if I saw ________ wearing it. And, I wouldn't be caught dead in it if __________________ owns it. Let me know - I am interested.

And also, just got back from buying in NY. Lots of dresses with GIANT (I mean GIANT )fabric flowers attached in some way to the neck. The reps were sheepishly saying, "I don't know if you have a client for this but..." I was thinking "of course we don't have any clients who want a 16 inch flower (larger than their head) attached to their neck - who the hell is going to wear that?" And then I saw the trailer to the new Sex And The City movie - OHHHHHH for the lady who wants to dress just like Carrie - I get it!
